The major forces of the field responded this Saturday near Magny-Cours where the 2 takes placee round of the 2022 season FFSAGT. After distinguishing himself in GT World Challenge Europe where he dominated qualifying with the Tresor by Car Collection Audi R8 LMS GT3, Simon Gachet showed off again but in GT4 this time.
Committed to a double program this weekend, Simon Gachet swapped his Tresor by Car Collection outfit for that of AKKODIS ASP as well as his Audi R8 LMS GT3 for a Mercedes AMG GT4. Regardless of the differences, the Frenchman demonstrated once again that he was very comfortable on the asphalt of Magny-Cours by taking pole position in FFSA GT.
The AKKODIS ASP driver beat Benjamin Lariche (Audi R8 GT4 No. 44 – Team Speedcar) by only 10 thousandths thanks to a lap in 1'45"243 during Q1. Behind, the gaps were also very tight since only 0“280 separated the poleman from 10e Éric Tremoulet (N°4 Mercedes AMG GT64 – Team JOUFFRUIT).
CMR highlights itself in Q2
Long dominated by Erwan Bastard and the No. 8 Audi R4 GT14 of Saintéloc, this Q2 finally turned in favor of theAlpine A110 GT4 No. 36 of CMR driven by Rudy Servol, While the mark of 1'45"457 established by Bastard seemed difficult to achieve, Nicolas' teammate Cheers took advantage of a lighter car at the end of the session to take pole position.
On the finish line, Rudy Servol stopped his time in 1'45"268 which allowed him to take 0"189 ahead of Erwan Bastard who was content with pole position in Silver. The Top 3 of this Q2 was completed by Benjamin Lessens in the No. 4 BMW M17 of L'Espace Bienvenue, still half a second from the lead.
