Mirage Racing recruits Moullin-Traffort and Giauque on a Alpine

The Mirage Racing team will return to the French Championship FFSAGT with ambitions. The Toulouse structure allows Morgan Moullin-Traffort and Philippe Giauque to recompose a duo which had caused havoc during the GT Tour era in 2014 and 2015.

“I am delighted to find Mirage Racing and Philippe Giauque, a driver with whom I competed for the title at the time of the Ferrari 458, explains Morgan Moullin-Traffort. It's hard to be a better gentleman. He is not only fast, but also reliable, hardworking and attentive. We know each other by heart and it only took him one run with theAlpine A110 GT4 to be convinced to put the helmet back on after a two-year break. I am also very happy to continue with Mirage Racing after seeing the potential of the team.

Laurent Martin, the technical director, always provides an exceptional car for the drivers, so the objective will be victory even if the competition will be there as always. We will have to focus on regularity, but also on our maturity, to score points in each race and aim for a good result when it comes time to do the accounts. »

The former Mitjet 2L team was able to convince Morgan Moullin-Traffort to stay after a promising run during the 2019 final at Paul-Ricard (Var). “We all know Morgan's qualities, from his track record, the fact that he was one of the first to win with a GT4 in the French FFSA GT Championship, or even his freelance work among us last year , explains Guillaume Bruot, the Team manager.

This experience was very enriching and we are impatient to resume this collaboration to develop it over an entire season. Philippe immediately won us over with his burst of speed during a test session at Nogaro, but also with his very open and accessible personality. They therefore form an excellent duo capable of playing for the top three. »

The disrupted calendar due to the coronavirus pandemic (Easter Cups in July, Pau Grand Prix postponed) is however not likely to worry Mirage-Racing, which points to the good behavior of the organizer SRO.

This long off-season also allowed us to analyze what worked last year with a technical team having perfectly mastered the challenge of a new car in a new category. We took the opportunity to rework other aspects and we look forward to putting everything into practice as soon as the crisis is behind us. Fortunately, the organization of the French FFSA GT Championship arquickly became aware of the situation by offering us concrete solutions that ensure we know exactly where we are and where we are going. »
