The final of FFSAGT takes on the appearance of a family reunion at Paul Ricard this weekend. Present this season at the wheel of the Toyota GR Supra GT4 from Toyota Gazoo Racing by CMR in the Silver category, Aurélien Panis will be joined for the occasion by his father Olivier Panis.

The winner of the 1996 Monaco Grand Prix will replace the usual Julien Piguet, retained by an operation by Toyota France. A change of no consequence since the car no longer had anything to play for in the championship.

Olivier Panis makes his return to FFSA GT, five years after his last participation, on behalf of a manufacturer with whom he competed in 158 grand prix F1. Aurélien and Olivier Panis have already won the Super Final together Andros Trophy 2019 at the Stade de France, but Olivier and Aurélien will be associated for the first time on the circuit.

“It’s really a huge pleasure to put the helmet back on and, what’s more, to share it with my son,” commented Olivier Panis. “It is a real privilege to experience this father and son relationship through this shared passion for motorsport and particularly with Toyota with whom I had a very strong history during my career in F1. At the same time, this is a continuation of our relationship with the group and Lexus with whom I work and of which Aurélien is the official driver within Tech1 Racing in GT3 in GT World Challenge Europe. »

Olivier Panis also manages his team in the championship ELMS in LMP2, with which he took a podium at the 24 Hours of Le Mans This year.
