Porsche presents its new 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport

Porsche has lifted the veil on its new 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport Type 982. The new machine from Stuttgart, which for the first time has natural carbon fiber bodywork elements, will be available in two versions: a “Trackday” version intended for enthusiasts and a “Competition” version intended for national and international races.

The new Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport is powered by a 6l flat 3.8 developing 425hp, or 40hp more than the previous version. Power will still be sent to the rear axle via a 6-speed sequential gearbox. The front suspension comes from the 911 GT3 Cup. To calm the beast, 380mm diameter steel stirrups were installed. The total weight has been limited to 1320kg.

The “Competition” version will also be equipped with a 115l tank allowing it to compete in long-distance races and will be sold at a price of €157 excluding tax. The “Trackday” version will allow the driver to deactivate the driving aids (ABS, ESC and traction control systems). It will be available at a price of €000 excluding tax. The first deliveries are planned for February.

“The new Porsche 718 GT4 Clubsport has many more racing genes compared to its previous version, comments Fritz Enzinger, the sporting director of the German brand. The engine power has been significantly increased. Furthermore, the level of downforce has been improved and the cockpit better meets the pilot's needs. I am certain that we will be able to continue our excellent results in terms of sales where we have already delivered 421 cars. »
