Third of the last 24 Hours of Le Mans (Sarthe) in the company of Matthias Beche and Gustavo Menezes on a non-hybrid Rebellion R13 LM P1, Thomas Laurent will exceptionally replace Yann Ehrlacher. The latter, currently second in the World Touring Car Cup (WTCR) after six rounds, will defend its title chances on the Slovakia Ring track (Slovakia).
This replacement was not planned because the original WTCR calendar called for a break in July. But the cancellation for economic reasons of the Termas de Rio Hondo race (Argentina, August 4-5) forced Eurosport Events to add one last European event before the summer break.
For the first time in its history, Yvan Muller Racing enters two Mercedes-AMG GT4 in the French championship and is 11th in the ranking reserved for Pro-Am.
