FIA GT – Sébastien Loeb Racing takes on Zolder

It will be necessary to confirm. After a promising start at Easter, including a first row in qualifying and a victory in the qualifying race, Sébastien Loeb Racing is approaching the second meeting of the FIA GT Series this weekend with ambition. Both McLaren MP4-12C entered by boss-driver Sébastien Loeb and Dominique Heintz, will try to fly the colors of the Alsatian team in Zolder, in the heart of Flanders, in Belgium. A circuit which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, and which has already seen Andreas Zuber, Alvaro Parente and Mike Parisy win in GT1 on this track. Only Sébastien Leob will have to discover the Flemish track. In terms of objectives, the team from Soultz-la-Fôret (Bas-Rhin) intends to progress on their settings in the wet, as rain is often present in Zolder.

“I’m pretty confident”
, explains Alvaro Parente, Loeb's teammate in the #9 McLaren. “The only real unknown in my opinion concerns the weather. Sometimes it can rain for a long time and heavily in Zolder... We still have to improve in the wet, but we have worked hard since Nogaro and everything should be going in the right direction. So we are aiming for a good result... Seb doesn't know Zolder, so he will have to learn this track which is not easy but I'm not very worried on that point! We are turning the page on Nogaro, taking into account what we missed to better aim for big points in Zolder”, concludes the Portuguese.

For Mike Parisy, who drives the No. 10 car with Andreas Zuber, the first Gers event portends good things for Belgium. “We still have room for improvement on the settings on a wet track, but we are not far from the truth and we can count on the responsiveness of the team to find the right set up”, he says. “I think the car will be efficient and generally consistent on this circuit which I know well having won there last year. I just got on the podium at Monza, driving a McLaren. The momentum is good… and our goals are high! »
