Franck Perera discovering GT

2011 French GT champion with Anthony Beltoise, Laurent Pasquali will this season be associated with Franck Perera, still within the Pro GT by Alméras team. Very early spotted by Toyota F1 after a world title in karting Formula A won in 1999, Perera had a career exclusively dedicated to car (FR 2.0 Italy, F3 Euro Series, GP2), under the wing of the Japanese manufacturer before it withdrew from the premier category. The Montpellier driver then went into exile in the United States to try his luck in Champ Car and then in Indycar. It is therefore with a certain curiosity that we will monitor his performances on the Porsche 997 GT3 R n°1, this weekend in Lédenon, for the first round of the GT Tour.

« In fact, 2012 simply marks my return to competition, recognizes Franck. I am coming out of a somewhat complicated period; I was supposed to play in the Superleague championship last year before it was canceled. I returned to karting and then, this winter, we spoke with Philippe Alméras, whom I have known for many years, and I did a test in the Porsche Cup. More out of curiosity initially, but it allowed me to discover the world of a GT ". Having left abroad at a very young age, Perera will even play for the first time in a French championship, for which he already has great ambitions: “ I'm here to get the title! The first round at Lédenon may not be easy, but am I extremely motivated? »
