Giorgio Sanna: “FFF Racing deserves this success”

What better reward for the support given by Lamborghini than these titles brought back by FFF Racing?

We know that in motorsport you have to bring all the ingredients together. You also need luck, but the guys from FFF Racing did an incredible job because they never gave up.

Even when the situation was difficult, like at Silverstone (with a narrowly missed victory. Editor's note), but also in the final Sprint fight against Black Falcon, and here in Barcelona. They deserve this success. It's also important for us as a manufacturer, especially to be the first to win all three crowns in the same season.

We must now focus on the end of 2019 with the other championships on the program, notably the GT Open (with Emil Frey Racing. Editor's note).

Is it special for you to see Andrea Caldarelli and Marco Mapelli, who have been part of the Lamborghini Squadra Corse adventure for a long time, titled here?

Of course, I've known them for a while. But I especially don't want to forget Dennis Lind who couldn't be there. He is a Super Trofeo champion and the first driver “shaped” by our program for young people. He did an exceptional job this year.

Did you believe in Andrea Caldarelli's ability to fulfill his duties as Team Principal and driver?

You know, I did it before him and I know how difficult it is! But I know him, and with the right people around him, anything was possible.

The Lamborghini Huracan GT3s performed very well in Catalonia. How do you explain it?

The Evo version is very balanced. The top speed is not necessarily the best, but it is a track where aerodynamic downforce is very important. Especially in the first sector, the car worked really well. It's not for nothing that we regularly come to develop the Huracan GT3 Evo here in Barcelona, because we consider it to be a benchmark track.

Will FFF Racing defend its titles in 2019?

I hope so. I also hope that Grasser Racing Team will come back even stronger. We will also have a team that we will announce soon (possibly Emil Frey Racing. Editor's note). We will continue to work to strengthen our Pro line-up, but we do not forget the Silver Cup, which is very important for our young drivers, or the Pro-Am and Am.
