Girolami on pole for Race 1, three French people in the top 5
The Honda Civic Type-R is a high-performance car on the Hungaroring circuit (Hungary), scene of the second round of the 2019 World Touring Car Cup (WTCR) season. Nestor Girolami proved it by taking pole position for Race 1.
The Argentinian from the Münnich Motorsport team, returning to WTCR by Oscaro after a year of retirement in his country, beat the Frenchman Yvan muller (Lynk & Co) of 171 thousandths. “I am very happy, we felt that we had a good rhythm, rejoices Nestor Girolami. The Alsatian Yann Erlacher (Lynk & Co) will start from fifth place, notably ahead of the reigning double world champion of rallycross (World RX), Johan Kristoffersson (Volkswagen, 7th). The latter, in much better shape than in Morocco at the beginning of April, is ahead Jean Karl Vernay (Audi, 8th).
WTCR Race 1 in Hungary begins at 15:15 p.m. on Saturday.
