Groppi and Bornhauser attack the title

Pedro Lamy will ultimately not drive for the Larbre Compétition team this season in the French GT championship. Strengthening the team's sports program Peugeot forced the Portuguese pilot to renege on his commitments. It will therefore be Laurent Groppi who will team up with Patrick Bornhauser on the Saleen S7 R.

Jack Leconte “We made sure that Pedro's program did not in any way interfere with his commitments with Peugeot, we even planned a plane for Monday afternoon so that he could reach Le Castellet for his Peugeot tests. Unfortunately for us, their schedule has expanded and the numerous concordances of dates have become too numerous. It will therefore be impossible for us to rely on him to achieve the objective we had set for ourselves: retaining the title of French GT Champion. I therefore wish them great success and am delighted with the arrival of Laurent in our ranks. During his performances in car and on the Saleen of the Oreca team in GT, he demonstrated sufficient potential to allow us to win the GT title. »

His future teammate Patrik Bornhauser says he is delighted with this new recruitment. “It's good to be able to count on a young, motivated and sufficiently experienced teammate, since he knows the French circuit, the car and the discipline perfectly. His results were very convincing and I am convinced that we will be competitive together.”

Main interested party, Laurent Groppi adds “I am very happy to join the Larbre Compétition team. I'm going to find the Saleen S7R that I really appreciated in 2007. I'm going to discover a new structure, a new teammate in the person of Patrick Bornhauser and new working methods. It will be very interesting. Given the competitors announced, the championship will be strong and the challenge all the more exciting. »

We will also find the Larbre Compétition team in the Carrera Cup with Mike Parisy. With the titles at the end of the year.
