GT Tour – Autospeed return to Magny-Cours

The Autovitesse team has focused on the Lamborghini Super Trofeo for several seasons with real success. Two championship titles and a second place in three years rewarded the efforts of Michel Duvernay's team. If we had seen this team several times in the GT Tour, Magny-Cours, the scene of the resumption of the debates in the French GT FFSA Championship on September 6 and 7, will be the opportunity to see the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560 again, which will be entrusted in the hands of the Frenchman Jonathan Cochet and the Swiss Cédric Leimer.

“We decided to dedicate ourselves to the Super Trofeo in 2014 and Magny-Cours is the opportunity to race with our GT3, explains Duvernay. We were disappointed with the car's lack of competitiveness in 2013, especially in the rain. It had a very good front end, but it was more delicate from the rear end. Reiter Engineering (technical partner of Lamborghini for the development of the GT3 version of the Gallardo, Editor's note) worked well with new suspension designs and we found good things at the rear axle with the 2014 version. The prospects are interesting, and even more so if we look at the results of Lamborghinis in other championships. Why not a podium at Magny-Cours? We hope this goes well. We want to enjoy our car and avoid accidents. We had the opportunity to test ourselves, particularly at Magny-Cours and in the rain, and the times were incomparable to those of last year. This bodes well. » If the presence of Autovitesse is only planned for this single round, MichelDuvernay does not rule out new presences. “If we obtain a positive result, this participation may lead to others. »

The Cochet – Leimer duo will look great. The Frenchman successfully passed through F3, was a test pilot for Cheers GP in F1 and Leimer has won the Super Trofeo twice, and has a perfect knowledge of his mount.
