GT Tour – LMP3s will join GTs in 2016

As we announced to you in issue 2019 of AUTOhebdo, le FFSAGT will evolve in 2016 with the arrival of LMP3s in the GT peloton. The FFSA GT French Championship, which will experience its 21st season next year, will therefore be accompanied by the new French Prototypes Championship.

The LMP3 manufacturers, Ligier, Ginetta, Adess and Riley Tech, will all be welcomed to the GT Tour meetings. A new national title will be awarded to the drivers, on the condition of obtaining around ten cars on the starting grids. The format between the GT and Protos Championships will be identical with a total of 7 rounds, including one or two outside the borders. The crews may be composed of two to three pilots depending on their categorization. The champions will have the opportunity to test the Ligier JS P2.

The calendar for the 2016 season will remain mostly stable, with trips to Le Mans (Sarthe), Magny-Cours (Nièvre) and Paul-Ricard (Var) already confirmed. But the organizers still promise new features to be revealed over the coming weeks.
