Haupt Racing on pole at Magny-Cours

We were waiting for the Mercedes and the Audis, it was indeed a Mercedes which took pole, but perhaps not the most prominent of the weekend. Luca Stolz and Maro Engel dominated the first qualifying session on Saturday in the Haupt Racing Mercedes, thanks to a time of 1'36"114.

They are only 77 thousandths ahead of Emil Frey Racing's Lamborghini driven by Mikael Grenier and Norbert Siedler. Little in sight during testing, the Swiss team shows itself when times count.

In third position, we find the Audi – Saintéloc of Steven Palette and Simon Gachet, which dominates the Silver category. She is ahead of another Audi, that of Attempto Racing in the hands of Tommaso Mosca and Mattia Drudi.

Championship leaders Charles Weerts and Dries Vanthoor will only start in sixth position at the wheel of the Team WRT Audi. Big disappointment for the AKKA-ASP Mercedes. Timur Boguslavskiy and Raffaelle Marciello will start from fifteenth position, just ahead of the Pro-AM leader, the Ferrari Tempesta Racing by Eddie Cheever and Chris Frogatt.
