GT1 – Michael Bartels proud of his team

Frédéric Makowiecki and Stef Dusseldorp seemed to be able to win this afternoon on the Slovakia Ring after a splendid stint from the Frenchman. But Hexis Racing lost time in the pits and was overtaken by the BMW Z4 Vita4One of Yelmer Buurman and Michael Bartels who made a quick refueling to take the lead. The German and the Dutchman thus climb to the top of the Championship thanks to their victory in the Championship race.

Michael Bartels wanted to pay tribute to his team and his teammate for the quality of the work carried out. “The save was splendid, there is a very strong state of mind in the team. They all had a rough weekend and didn't get much sleep. We can now relax a bit during the summer break and come back strong for the next event in Portimao. These GT3s are particularly sensitive to temperature variations, five or ten degrees difference in the air can have a considerable impact on performance. After a year of absence, we are back and are showing performances that allow us to aim for the title. Yelmer proved today that he is an extremely fast driver in all conditions. With the performance of the car, this is what made the difference because the McLaren was untouchable at the start. »
