Hirakawa and Yamashita on pole at Fuji

New record. On Saturday, Kenta Yamashita set the fastest lap of a GT 500 at Fuji, in 1'26''653, in the Toyota GR Supra from KeePer TOM's. The performance allowed him to take pole in the Super GT final with the No. 37 which he shared with Ryo Hirakawa. The Japanese, co-leader of the championship, has already brought home a point from the Fuji meeting.

Toyota achieved a quadruple in this session as the #39 of Sard driven by Heikki Kovalainen and Yuichi Nakayama ranked second ahead of the #36 of TOM's driven by Yuhi Sekiguchi and Frenchman Sacha Fenestraz. Yuji Tachikawa and Hiroaki Ishiura complete the quartet in the Zent car. Takuya Izawa and Hiroki Otsu put the first Honda NSX in fifth place. The Belgian Bertrand Baguette, leader of the championship, was only able to achieve the 12th time associated with Koudai Tsukakoshi in the Keihin Honda.

In GT300, pole also goes to Toyota, precisely the No. 52 of Saitama Toyopet driven by Hiroki Yoshida and Kohta Kawaai.
