It's not just the prototype that counts at Porsche. Always very involved in the GT environment whether in GT3 or GTE Pro in WEC, the German manufacturer intends to continue at the same pace next year.
Presented in 2022, the new Porsche 911 GT3 R based on the 992 generation will make its official debut at the next 24 Hours of Daytona (January 28/29). In Florida, it is Pfaff Motorsports which will field the new Stuttgart mount with Klaus Bachler and Patrick Pilet at the controls who will be joined by Laurens Vanthoor during the rounds ofEndurance.
On the other side of the Rhine, the new Porsche 911 GT3 R will be entered both in DTM than in “DTM Endurance” (the penultimate floor of the new ADAC pyramid where the GT Masters and the Prototype Cup Germany are located). Thomas Preining and Dennis Olsen are expected in the DTM but the German firm could enter additional cars.
Faithful to the 24 Hours of the Nürburgring (May 20-21), Porsche intends to enter its new 911 GT3 R there with factory drivers. Thus, Michael Christensen, Kévin Estre, Frédéric Makowiecki, Nick Tandy and Thomas Preining are the potential leads of the German manufacturer to which we must add the “Porsche Junior” driver Ayhancan Güven.
Concerning series like the Intercontinental GT Challenge, the GT World Challenge and the Asian Le Mans Series, customer teams will continue to receive the same technical support from Porsche as in the previous season. This also applies to the WEC and the European Le Mans Series where the 911 RSR is still eligible.
