Traditional end-of-season fireworks event in GT3, the FIA GT World Cup contested on the streets of Macau will not take place in 2020, against the backdrop of the coronavirus pandemic.
Scheduled from November 19 to 22, the meeting integrated into the Macau Grand Prix is the second race of the meeting canceled after that of the WTCR.
“The FIA will work with the various stakeholders involved to explore options for resuming the event in the future. » specifies the federation in a press release.
The race featuring GT3s for several years on the Guia track became the FIA World Cup in 2015, and saw the Italian Raffaele Marciello win in 2019 with Mercedes-AMG, face aux Porsche 911 GT3 R – ROWE Racing by Laurens Vanthoor and Earl Bamber.
Let us also remember that the Macau Grand Prix also features the single-seaters of F3 for his flagship event. But no information has yet filtered out on this FIA F3 World Cup.
