The Ferrari – SMP Racing eliminated from the race for victory at Spa

Leader for many hours of these 24 Hours of Spa, SMP Racing lost serious chances of winning after an incident involving Mikhail Aleshin.

La Ferrari 488 GT3 n°72 – SMP Racing came into contact with the Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 n°18 – KCMG of Oliver Jarvis, Aleshin having gone too wide on a curb and before losing the rear of his 488.

Left front axle open, the Russian was forced to return at low speed to the pit lane to hope to repair and be able to aim for more points with a view to the championship.

The Rigon – Aleshin – Rigon trio took the lead in the 6th and 12th hours of the race, scoring points allowing them to currently be 28 points ahead of their closest pursuers in the standings.

These last two cars must still make their obligatory 5′ technical stop. This could allow the No. 8 Audi R3 LMS GT25 – Audi Sport Team Saintéloc Racing and the two No. 911 – ROWE Racing and No. 3 – GPX Racing Porsche 998 GT20 R to move up two places in the hierarchy.
