Formula Renault WEC disappears

For two seasons, the Formula championship Renault WEC was part of the French motorsport landscape, at the same time as its neighboring countries. Its two winners, Daniel Ricciardo and Albert Costa, as well as the last two winners of the French Championship contested within it, Jean-Eric Vergne and Nathanaël Berthon, will also race this year in Formula Renault 3.5 as part of the World Series.

Yes, but the economic crisis is currently undermining a number of championships, and unfortunately the Formula Renault WEC ended up being one of the victims. Due to a lack of competitors, the championship will not take place this year.

A rapprochement with the Swiss championship had been considered for a time but no agreement was ultimately reached with the Swiss federation.

But wishing not to see these single-seaters leave the French circuits, Asa Armagnac Bigorre is trying to set up, during the next Easter Cups on the weekend of April 4, a “Formula Renault Master” round including registration fees amount to? 300 euros only.
