The Mercedes-AMG GT4 evolves for 2020

Launched into the deep end in 2018, the Mercedes-AMG GT4 was widely distributed in the category with 120 copies sold to customer teams, which brought 53 overall victories to the brand with the star.

A success in the continuation of the GT3 version, which should logically continue this year, especially since Mercedes-AMG will bring an “Evo” version to its GT4.

Modifications which mainly concern the cooling of the German car, both in terms of braking and the engine block. The Affalterbach engineers therefore modified the air intakes relating to the braking system and increased the diameter of the air ducts.

This coupled with new front discs will provide greater durability to the brakes, an essential element in endurance racing. The cooling of the in-house twin-turbo V8 has also been optimized with the same endurance objectives in mind.

The handling of the GT, which remains relatively more massive than many of its rivals, will also be improved via the adoption of tie rods on the rear axle from the GT3 version.

Approval is in progress and the new Mercedes-AMG GT4 can already be ordered, and the current versions can be updated.
