The new Aston Martin Vantage GT3 aligned with VLN8

Like Porsche, who upgraded his 911 version of the 3 GT2019 R twice on the Nordschleife, Aston Martin will offer its all-new Vantage GT3 an outing on the legendary northern loop of the Nürburgring at the end of the season.

Gaydon's new weapon, now powered by a V8 instead of the traditional V12, will compete on the track during VLN8 on October 6, with official drivers Maxime Martin and Darren Turner. This will be the first time the Vantage GT3 will be pitted against the competition.

Aston Martin Racing took part in the 2017 edition of the 24 Hours of the Nürburgring officially, and David King, president of the competition department, admitted earlier in the year that the German double clock tour remained one of the main objectives of the brand with the new GT3.

“It’s a big challenge and being part of the development of the new car is great, admits Maxime Martin. As for our expectations, we have some understanding of the GTE version of the WEC, and so it will be interesting to see how the new car reacts to this type of track.

There are so many different situations on the Nordschleife with its mix of high and low speed corners and all the bumps. It is certainly the most difficult track in the world. If the car is fast there, we can be sure it will be fast everywhere. »
