The 2019 WTCR season ends on December 15 at Sepang

If we knew the place (Sepang in Malaysia), 2019 World Touring Car Cup (WTCR) final dates remained to be confirmed. This Wednesday February 13, Eurosport Events, the promoter of the competition, announced that the campaign would end on December 15.

That weekend, touring vehicles will coexist with motorcycles from the World Endurance Championship (EWC, also managed by Eurosport Events). Special planning will be required for the occasion. The test sessions will take place on Thursday December 12 and Friday December 13. The three races are brought together on Sunday, with a Super Final scheduled for 19 p.m. local time, i.e. at night. The two-wheel event, the 8 Hours of Sepang, will take up all of Saturday's time.

“The circuit has the best level of approval for motorcycle and car competitions, and has extensive experience in global events, so we are confident in being able to deliver a unique experience to fans, riders, teams and bikers.", explains François Ribeiro, head of Eurosport Events.

The boss of the Sepang International Circuit, Razlan Razali, reveals that the organization of this final is the result of work with the fans. “With the departure of the F1 of Malaysia (in 2017), we set to work to have championships included in our calendar. Through a fan vote and feasibility study, EWC and WTCR were the two events chosen. »
