The Toyota Supra in Super GT from 2020

The officialization of the 2019 Honda crews was completely drowned out by another announcement concerning the Super GT, that of Toyota. Since 2006, the Japanese manufacturer has been present in the series via its premium brand Lexus, with the SC430, the RC F then the LC 500. Not without success since it has offered it five titles, the last in 2017.

But from next year, it is under the Toyota banner that the Japanese giant will compete in the most famous national championship. And this with the aim of promoting its new Supra, the concepts of which have already been presented have received a more than convincing reception.

The final version of the Supra will be officially presented at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit next Monday. For its part, Toyota Gazoo Racing continues to work on the competition version – the GR Supra Racing Concept – unveiled last March.

The Lexus LC 500 will therefore enter its final season in the discipline next April. As a reminder, the Supra – all generations combined – has a total of four national coronations.
