Larbre and DKR ignite the Val de Vienne

Magny-Cours is still controversial within the plateau FFSAGT. During the second race in Niverne, Laurent Groppi (Saleen S7, Larbre Competition) and Laurent Cazenave (Corvette C5R, DKR Engineering) collided several times. Following these multiple hits, the crew of the Saleen, overwhelmed to the point of giving up, told their version of the facts. Today, and before the Val de Vienne event, the DKR Engineering team would like to clarify things, through the voice of Laurent Cazenave.

« When I left Adelaide, I came out a little better than Laurent Groppi. I find myself three-quarters of the way up to it at the next turn (Nurbugring chicane) and on the inside, therefore priority. Laurent Groppi decides to steer anyway, our two cars touch door to door and not by front impact against rear impact. (?) As I overtake the Saleen on the right on the straight, Laurent Groppi shifts to the right forcing me to put two wheels in the grass to avoid contact. I still manage to overtake him, but when braking next he will hit the rear of my corvette while braking. This violent contact takes me off the track. Laurent Groppi passes me by in this maneuver. I still managed to get back to the track with great luck. In the following straight, Laurent Groppi will crush me once again in the grass forcing me to lift my foot so as not to come into contact with it. In the maneuver, I will lose a place to Jean Philippe Dayraut. »

On June 3, Laurent Groppi expressed his incomprehension regarding the multiple attacks by Laurent Cazenave, making him responsible for these maneuvers. Let's hope that Val de Vienne is not the scene of a settling of scores between the two cars.
