Laurent Cazenave (CD Sport): “Have common sense”

What is your deconfinement plan?

We imagine resuming activity at the beginning of June with GT4 tests. In LM P3, it's more complicated because we have two South African drivers racing. We must therefore take into account the travel factor and given that the state of health emergency has been extended until July 10, for these pilots outside the Schengen area, there is a mandatory quarantine. People are not going to observe this period just to ride for two days…

How are you going to apply the famous barrier measures?

I have read the protocols in the construction sector, because nothing has come out yet regarding motorsport. Internally, we tried to have common sense. The first operation remains physical distancing. However, there are times when this will not be possible, particularly if an engine or gearbox has to be removed. This is where masks and hand washing come into play. The majority of interventions on cars, as currently in the workshop, can be carried out by a single mechanic.

What about your flight school activity?

The advantage we have is that we have single-seaters and therefore no proximity to the instructors. Strict hygiene measures will have to be applied: disinfection of suits, helmets, seats, harnesses, use of disposable undergloves. Masks will be required to be worn in the stands. Concretely, an additional person will only be responsible for these cleaning phases. Our activities could resume with individuals. We expect a 60% drop in revenue. We hope to have a good September-October-November.
