The French FFSA GT Championship with GT4s

Stéphane Ratel mentioned the solution in issue 2069 of AUTOhebdo. The FFSA has confirmed its three-year partnership with SRO Motorsports Group to relaunch the French Championship FFSAGT from 2017. The structure of the French businessman will create GT4 races instead of LMP3 / GT3 platforms offered by Oreca which did not convince customers, the inaugural round of Nogaro (Gers) contested at the end of March having brought together only around ten cars.

The SRO Group will therefore ensure the promotion of the meetings hosting the French FFSA GT Championship as well as that of the complementary grids (notably those of the F4 reviewed in 2017). The calendar revealed " very soon " will consist of five events in France and one abroad.

“It is essential for the Federation to maintain a French GT Championship, given the continued success it enjoys with the public, explains Nicolas Deschaux, president of the FFSA. This maintenance involves the establishment of a new system from 2017, favoring the presence of a denser platform, integrating an international dimension, and on viable economic bases. After having carried out a collegial reflection, the Federation logically turned to the SRO group, specialized in the promotion and organization of circuit events. »

“We are delighted with this new collaboration with the FFSA, adds Stéphane Ratel, the founder and director of the SRO Group which notably manages the Blancpain GT Series. Consultation with the teams was essential in our approach and quickly proved to be positive. In view of the economic situation in France, it seemed appropriate to exploit the growth of GT4 in our territory. »
