The benchmark Japanese Grand Touring Championship, Super GT, will return to the circuits during the summer. A new calendar published by the organizers this Thursday June 4 shows eight rounds planned for the second half of 2020.
The launch is planned at the Fuji circuit on the weekend of July 18 and 19t. The competitors, including the Franco-Argentinian Sacha Fenestraz (Toyota) will have to get used to the landscape of Mount Fuji because the Super GT has planned at least three meetings on the grounds owned by the Toyota company, or even a fourth meeting as a final!
Indeed, the final race could take place in Fuji, but also in Buriram (Thailand). Everything will depend on the situation relating to international travel at the end of the year. This calendar therefore confirms the absence of the Okayama, Sugo and Autopolis tracks, as well as the night event in Malaysia.
The second pre-season tests will take place on June 27 and 28 in Fuji behind closed doors. Finally, GTA (the organizer of the Super GT) will publish in due time a health safety report to be respected by participants, including controls at the entrance to the paddock, the compulsory wearing of masks and the ban on dining in groups. .
