Summaries of Sunday's races in the Ultimate Cup Series at Magny-Cours

Ultimate Cup Series Magny Cours – race 3 Mitjet and race 3 car

Last day of racing at Magny-Cours for this round of the Ultimate Cup. This morning, the Mitjets and single-seaters set off in the rain.

In the Mitjet category, Sébastien Seveau does it again and wins his second victory this weekend in the Mitjet. He is ahead of David Bouet and Jankavicius Povilas.

Race 3 single-seater starts in the rain, Konstantin Lachenauer leads. Behind, incidents multiplied: cars no. 39 and no. 25 went off the track and caused the safety car to come out.

As the safety car leaves the track, Adrien Chila (Graff) crashes into the wall and bounces back onto the track. Return of the safety car. There are 6 minutes of racing left.

The red flag is out and the race is over. Konstantin Lachenauer wins the third race of the weekend. This is his sixth victory in a row this season. The top 3 is as follows: Lachenauer (Graff), Pierre-Albert Fusella (Lamo Racing) and Éric Trouillet (Graff).

 

Ultimate Cup Series Magny Cours – race 4 GT Sprint/race 4 Mitjet

Let's go for the last GT Sprint race of the weekend. Maxime Mainguy takes the lead. The fourth Mitjet race will start immediately afterwards.

Maxime Mainguy (Breizh Motorsport 56) is in first place, ahead of Alexandre Guesdon (Génération Stunt) and Marc Vives (R-Breizh competition). On the 8th lap, Vives passed Guesdon for second place.

The race ends two minutes before the end of regulation time. Maxime Mainguy wins the race, followed by Marc Vives and Alexandre Guesdon.

The Mitjet race starts with Povilas Jankavicius in the lead, ahead of his French rival Sébastien Seveau. The race was quickly neutralized, the circuit being flooded with rain.

The race resumes its normal pace 3 minutes from the end of regulation time. The top 3 are: Jankavicius, de Miguel and Bruot. Sébastien Seveau, winner of two of the four races, fell to sixth place. He managed to move up to fourth place during the last lap.

Povilas Jankavicius wins the race. He won for the second time this weekend. Two everywhere for him and Sébastien Seveau. The top 3 after the checkered flag are: Jankavicius, de Miguel and Bruot.

 

Ultimate Cup Series Magny Cours – Challenge Proto / Challenge CN

The last race of the weekend, the 4-hour endurance challenge, begins in the rain. The race may not be able to go to the end.

Maurice Smith (No. 69 Ligier) starts at the head of the race. He is followed by Pietro Peccenini (Duqueine n°73) and Philippe Cimadomo (Ligier n°77). The safety car is out, and the cars are driving under yellow flag conditions.

The safety car leaves the track at the end of the 2nd lap. Peccenini takes the lead of the race. He is ahead of the No. 72 Norma driven by Nicolas Schatz and the No. 4 Ligier of Guillaume Veyrat.

The race was stopped by a red flag after only 16 minutes of racing. Rain prevents safe progress. The top 3 remains the same at this stage of the race. The drivers are allowed to get out of their cars, the end of the race seems inevitable.

However, the race resumes shortly before 16 p.m., and it is largely done under safety car regime. Hugo Carini takes the #73 car to victory in the LMP3 category. Jonathan Brossard finished first with car #72 in CN/AT Prototype. Christophe Girardot, the only one entered in LMP4, finished the race.

 

Ultimate Cup Series Magny Cours – GT challenge Endurance

For the last race of the day, the GT Endurance Challenge is in the spotlight. A four-hour race awaits the drivers.

As soon as the lights went out, car number 25 spun and caused the safety car to exit. She comes back ten minutes later. Thierry Perrier (Ferrari n°1) leads ahead of Philippe Bonnel and Paul Aegerter.

In the 12th minute of the race, Aegerter took second place, but lost it following a spin.

In the 25th minute of the race, Philippe Bonnel stopped on the track. As a result, the yellow flag is out.

The race starts again after 32 minutes. Thybaud Franck (Renault n°45) leads the race ahead of Thierry Perrier.

At the 43rd minute of the race, a full course yellow regime was invoked by the track marshals. At the 52nd minute of the race, Gérard Tremblay is leading the race.

At the end of the first hour of racing, the top 3 are as follows: Franck Thybaud (Renault n°45), Gérard Tremblay (Lamborghini n°71) and Thierry Perrier (Ferrari n°1).

During the 29th lap, Lucien Crapiz (Renault n°45) went off the track and caused the safety car to come out.

À l’issue de la deuxième heure de course, le top 3 est le suivant : Milan Petelet (Lamborghini n°14), Jean-Paul Pagny (Ferrari n°1) et Pierre Martinet (Porsche #71).

38 minutes from the end of the race, the top 3 are as follows: Jean-Bernard Bouvet (Ferrari no. 1), Simon Escalier (Lamborghini no. 14) and Laurent Mayet (Opel no. 123).

9 minutes from the end, the red flag came out, one competitor being stopped. The race is stopped and will not resume. It was Jean-Bernard Bouvet (Ferrari n°1) who won this challenge.
