The Euro Racecar season will start this weekend in Nogaro. 50 drivers will drive Dodge Challengers and Chargers, Ford Mustangs and Chevrolet Camaros for the first European Nascar series.

The Euro Racecar will start in Nogaro

The Euro Racecar Series will begin its fourth season this weekend on the Paul Armagnac circuit for the Nogaro 200 event which will be the first European race contested under license Nascar. The different models on which the 50 competitors will compete on cars powered by a 8 liter V5,7 of 450hp. “This weekend, the first pole sitter and the first winner will make NASCAR history and it is a great honor for our drivers”, rejoices Jérôme Galpin, the director of the discipline. “I am even happier that it is taking place in Nogaro. We are in France, the country of birth of EURO RACECAR NASCAR Touring Series and it is here that we competed in our very first race. »

Reigning champion Eric Hélary has hung up his time to manage his own structure, Still Racing, which will field two Chevrolet Camaros and a Dodge Challenger. This season, two serious contenders are emerging for the coronation. The Frenchman Romain Thiévain, entered in a Challenger from Eric Hélary's team, and the Spaniard Ander Vilarino, entered with a Camaro from Team TFT, intend to succeed the reigning champion. But the list of registered drivers includes many experienced competitors. “We are happy to be able to offer an international and high-level line-up,” observes Jérôme Galpin. It has gone up a notch since last year and everything is open. We are also looking forward to welcoming talented young drivers to the grid, who will fight not only for the Junior title, but also for victory. »
