Makowiecki and Clairay finish in style

Hexis AMR, after a promising start, finished the first GT1 World Championship in the best possible way. This weekend, in San Luis (Argentina), the French team had a perfect run, winning in the qualifying race then the “championship” race thanks to Frédéric Makowiecki and Yann Clairay.

The result allows Hexis AMR to finish second in the “teams” classification of the first GT1 World Championship, and Frédéric Makowiecki to rank fourth driver, behind the Andrea Bertolini duo? Michael Bartels and Thomas Mutsch. Yann Clairay, who only competed for half a season, however finished thirteenth in the drivers' championship.

« It was a fantastic weekend for Hexis and Aston, says Fred Makowiecki. The car was really good on this circuit, difficult and new for many of us. I was able to get a good start, maintain the pace and was lucky enough to be able to build a significant gap. I have to thank the team for all the work done this weekend as well as throughout the season. »

For his part, Yann Clairay is no less happy. “ Fred did a fantastic job, it's a perfect result to end this championship. It's a very good championship because there are the best GT drivers and the best cars there. The format, with two races, is good. I also like the qualifying format, with Q1, Q2, Q3. I am now waiting to come back next year. »
