Mathieu Jaminet can aim for the Porsche Carrera Cup title from Imola

After Barcelona, Spa-Francorchamps, Zandvoort and Le Mans, Porsche Carrera Cup France continues its tour of Europe on another prestigious circuit. For their visit to Italy on October 1st and 2nd, the 911 horsepower Porsche 3 GT460 Cups will race on the Imola track.

Since the start of the season, only two best laps in the race are missing from the incredible series of Mathieu Jaminet (Martinet by Almeras / Sonauto). When entering the final straight, three drivers are still in a position to deprive him of the title: Joffrey de Narda (Sébastien Loeb Racing / Porsche Center Lorraine), Vincent Beltoise (Saintéloc / Porsche Centers Antibes and Monaco) and Florian Latorre (Sébastien Loeb Racing / Porsche Distribution).

Mathematically, Mathieu Jaminet must not concede more than two points to Joffrey de Narda over the entire Italian weekend and score 21 points to protect himself from a possible full card from Vincent Beltoise or Florian Latorre.

Beyond arithmetic considerations, the leader's rivals will have the ambition to achieve a first victory on the Imola circuit. Located in Emilia-Romagna, where the heart of Italian sports cars lives, the fast and technical track promises lively races.

The B Championship is much more competitive. Two points separate Christophe Stone (Sébastien Loeb Racing / Porsche Montélimar) and Roar Lindland (Sébastien Loeb Racing / Porsche Center Strasbourg). And if the two Sébastien Loeb Racing drivers share the victories, Nicolas Misslin (Martinet by Almeras / Porsche Center Clermont-Ferrand) remains in the running for this highly coveted title. Playing almost at home with the Tsunami RT team, Oleksandr Gaidai (Tsunami RT / Porsche Centers Dijon & Mulhouse) will be another serious candidate for victory in the category.

Pierre Piron (Mediacom) and Wim Meulders (Speedlover) will also be at the start among the B, as will John Wartique (Speedlover) who will replace Carlos Rivas for the Italian round.

Reserved for young drivers participating in their first campaign in the Porsche Carrera Cup France, the Rookies Young Talents category is even more competitive. Florian Latorre (Sébastien Loeb Racing / Porsche Distribution), Thomas Laurent (Martinet by Almeras / Porsche Centers Bordeaux and La Rochelle), Alexandre Jouannem (Tsunami RT / Porsche Centers Orléans and Tours) and Julien Andlauer (Saintéloc / Porsche Center Saint-Etienne) have all won at least once since the start of the season. And if Florian Latorre is at the top of the standings, nothing is decided with four races still to go.

In the Teams ranking, the duel will continue between Martinet by Alméras (253 points) and Sébastien Loeb Racing (234 points), with the arbitration of Saintéloc (188 points).
