La McLaren 570S GT4 has lived, room for its successor in 2024, the Artura GT4! The model will make its first public outing on the sidelines of the Goodwood Festival of Speed (England, June 23-26).

The McLaren Artura GT4 visually resembles its predecessor. But under the back cover, everything changes. In fact, the turbo V8 disappears in favor of a V6 block equipped with two turbochargers, open at 120 degrees. The power remains unknown because it will be modified according to the Performance Balance; the fact remains that the cavalry on the production version reaches 585 horsepower.

“The Artura GT4 is the second racing car to be built from scratch by the Motorsport division of McLaren Automotive, boasts Ian Morgan, director of motorsport at McLaren Automotive. Based on the new McLaren Artura, it represents a significant step up from the outgoing 570S GT4, itself a hugely successful competition car that has achieved numerous race and championship victories with our customer teams.

With lighter weight, extremely precise handling characteristics and increased durability – as well as the efficiency advantages and complete serviceability for the mechanics of the new V6 powertrain – the Artura GT4 will set new standards, as we are already seeing this in our extensive testing and development program. »

The McLaren Artura should find its audience from 2023 on the grids of British GT and GT World Challenge America, as was the case for the 570S GT4. In France, the GT4 will be available for the championship FFSAGT but the British brand has always been discreet since the introduction of the GT4 class in 2017.
