Nascar – Edwards between ambition and humility with Joe Gibbs

After ten years with Roush Fenway Racing, Carl Edwards is preparing to compete in his 11th season in Nascar Sprint Cup within Joe Gibbs Racing. The 35-year-old American arrives with the firm intention of competing in the Chase until the final at Miami-Homestead (Florida, November 16), after several discreet seasons which distance his honorary title from vice-champion in 2011. « Jhe plans to win ten races and the Championship », affirmed the new recruit of Joe Gibbs on Fox Sports. “People will say I'm crazy but if we don't win the title it won't be a success. All staff are working towards this goal and that is what we are going to do. »

If Carl Edwards voluntarily gives an image of great confidence, he wanted to qualify his speech by emphasizing this new experience that he is about to live, in particular by reuniting with his former teammate Matt Kenseth. “Matt helped me a lot when we started out as teammates. But I didn't understand it. I wasn't the best teammate when I arrived in the discipline. I've been there for ten years and I've never won the title. I didn't have very good relationships with my teammates either.. I know now that we must work together. I think I arrive with more humility and wanting to learn from the team”, a ajouté le pilote de la Toyota n ° 19.
