Nascar – Never 2 without 3 for Kevin Harvick

Kevin Harvick (Stewart-Haas Racing) won his third pole of the season at Michigan International Speedway by setting the new lap record with a time of 35. The driver of the No. 198 Chevrolet beat the Hendrick SS driven by Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhardt Jr by more than a tenth to score the ninth pole of his career and try to win for the second time on the Michigan oval. “The cars will be slower when racing with traffic”, warns the pole sitter.

Aric Almirola (Richard Petty Motorsports) places his Ford in fourth position ahead of the Chevrolet of Paul Menard (Richard Childress Racing). Brad Keselowski (Team Penske) must settle for the third row ahead of Jimmie Johnson (Hendrick Motorsports) and Kurt Busch (Stewart-Haas Racing). For his return to Nascar Sprint Cup, Juan-Pablo Montoya (Team Penske) set the 28th fastest time in the No. 12 Ford.
