Hamlin leads Joe Gibbs hat-trick at Pocono

Denny Hamlin (Toyota) a décroché à Pocono (Pennsylvanie) sa 3e victoire de la saison et la 34e de sa carrière en devançant ses coéquipiers Erik Jones et Martin Truex Jr qui ont offert un triplé à la Joe Gibbs Racing. Le vice-champion 2010 a tenu bon après avoir pris les commandes de la course dans le dernier segment alors que les réservoirs se vidaient et que la panne hantait les concurrents.

The driver of the No. 11 Camry once again showcased his expertise in the “Tricky Triangle” since he scored his 5th victory at Pocono, the 3-turn circuit where he scored his first two victories in Nascar Cup Series in 2006. Denny Hamlin had not won on the Pennsylvania oval since 2010.

Kyle Buch (Toyota) had to settle for 9th place unlike his teammates. William Byron and Kyle Larson rounded out the Top 5 in their Chevrolets. Kevin Harvick placed the first Ford in 6th position.

Jimmie Johnson (Chevrolet) finished in 15th place after notching his second career segment victory.
