Keselowski got scared at Road Atlanta

Brad Keselowski's exit from the road was not particularly violent, but the consequences could have been dramatic. The Penske Racing driver went straight into turn 1 at around 160 km/h after losing his brakes and hitting a wall temporarily installed behind two rows of tires, with the Dodge ending up in the trees.

“I hit (the barrier) head-on and I’m still here”, comments Brad Keselowski. “One of the worst nightmares for a driver is going straight into a corner like that, which had no safety barrier (photo taken by Jimmie Johnson after the accident) and without having brakes. The situation was even less comfortable knowing that it was a low wall installed temporarily and that there were trees on the other side. »

Brad Keselowski is suffering from pain in his left foot which will certainly handicap him for the Pocono race which takes place this weekend. “It comes at the worst time, with the Chase about to happen. We need to get another win and the upcoming tracks on the calendar require a lot of finesse with the brake pedal at Watkins Glen and Pocono. Then there is one of the most difficult races with Bristol, 500 laps on a small circuit. »
