Relaunched by the North Carolina structure after a year 2020 to forget, Kyle Larson offers himself the first success in the Cup Series since his return from suspension at the start of the season.
Third on the starting grid, the man in the No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet Camaro was discreet in the first segment. Finishing only 12th, Kyle Larson restarted the comeback operation during the second section which he won easily.
Falling back beyond the Top 15 after his penultimate refueling, the Californian regained control of the race in Las Vegas with less than 70 laps to go. He then managed his last stop very well as well as the last 40 laps to take the checkered flag first.
Kyle Larson won his 7th career race, the first since his return to competition after being suspended last season. Hendrick Motorsports takes its second victory of the season after William Byron at Miami last weekend (February 28).
Next meeting on March 14 near Phoenix (Arizona).
