Nascar – Buescher emerges from the fog

138 of the 160 laps on the program for the Pocono race in Pennsylvania, already postponed from Sunday to Monday due to bad weather conditions, had just been completed when the officials of the Nascar were forced to stop the event contested on the Tricky Triangle, due to stubborn fog.

Chris Buescher (Front Row Motorsports – Ford), rookie this season after his Xfinity Series title in 2015, was then leading the race. A position obtained by having decided to stay on the track when the other competitors decided to go through the pit lane under a green flag from the 124th lap.

After a neutralization under yellow flag following the arrival of fog on the 133rd lap, Nascar decided to ratify the result of the event after more than an hour of waiting, offering Buecher his first success in the category.

Brad Keselowski (Team Penske) allows Ford to take the double and is ahead of four Chevrolets with Regan Smith (Tommy Baldwin Racing) 3rd ahead of Kevin Harvick and Tony Stewart (Stewart-Haas Racing) et Kyle Larson (Chip Ganassi Racing). La première Toyota de Denny Hamlin (Joe Gibbs Racing) suit au classement en septième position.

For his second race as replacement for Dale Earnhardt Jr, still away from the circuits after experiencing concussion symptoms, Jeff Gordon climbed to 27th place. Less success for Martin Truex Jr (Furniture Row Racing – Toyota), since the pole sitter was involved in three accidents, including contact with the wall on the 19th lap.
