Nascar – Carl Edwards wins in Texas

The 2011 runner-up benefited from a superb pit stop by his team to take the lead in the race and sign his 3rd victory of the season, his 4th at Texas Motor Speedway and the 28th of his career. This success above all allows him to hope to win a first title in Nascar Sprint Cup at the end of the month.

Carl Edwards managed to maintain the advantage over Joey Logano (Team Penske) who was the biggest leader with 178 laps spent in the lead out of the 293 covered. Martin Truex Jr (Furniture Row Racing) completed the top three. Kyle Busch (Joe Gibbs Racing) completed the top five behind Chase Elliott (Hendrick Motorsports) ahead of Kevin Harvick (Stewart-Haas Racing) and Matt Kenseth (Joe Gibbs Racing). Denny Hamlin (Joe Gibbs Racing) maintained his chances by taking 9th place, while Jimmie Johnson was content to finish just outside the top ten.

The disappointment of the weekend was for Kurt Busch (Stewart-Haas Racing) who only took 20th place. The 2004 champion finds himself the lowest ranked before the race in Phoenix (Arizona) this weekend which will determine the four finalists for the final.
