Nascar – Jimmie Johnson imperial at Dover

If Mark Martin (Michael Waltrip Racing) had won the pole for the FedEx 400, the second place of Jimmie Johnson (Hendrick Motorsports) seemed much more threatening, as the driver of the No. 48 Chevrolet is used to shining at Dover. The former champion of the discipline did not fail in his reputation and won a seventh victory in Delaware after leading 289 laps out of the 400 contested. The Hendrick driver won ahead of Kevin Harvick (Richard Childress Racing) and Matt Kenseth (Roush Fenway Racing), while Dale Earnhardt Jr (Hendrick Motorsports) and Clint Bowyer (Michael Waltrip Racing).

Aric Almirola (Richard Petty Motorsports) once again shines by taking sixth position. Martin Truex Jr (Michael Waltrip Racing) finished seventh ahead of Joey Logano (Joe Gibbs Racing) and Kasey Kahne (Hendrick Motorsports), who was the last winner at Charlotte. Marcos Ambrose (Richard Petty Motorsports) completes the top ten ahead of Greg Biffle (Roush Fenway Racing). Brad Keselowski (Penske) finished 12th ahead of Jeff Gordon (Hendrick Motorsports) who showed good pace to fight at the front before encountering vibration problems. Tony Stewart (Stewart-Haas Racing) ranks 25th after being involved in a pileup where Juan-Pablo Montoya (Earnhardt Ganassi Racing) was also among the victims. The Colombian finally settles for 28th position. Carl Edwards (Roush Fenway) finished just behind Smoke after suffering a flat tire.
