NASCAR – Joey Logano remains master of Bristol

For the third time this season, Joey Logano (Team Penske – Ford) was able to taste the joys of Victory Lane in NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. After his victories at the Daytona 500 in Florida to open the championship, then at Watkins Glen (New York) earlier in the summer, it was on the Bristol track (Tennessee) that the 25-year-old driver registered his name in the 2015 rankings.

Already a winner here last year, Logano took definitive control of the Irwin Tools Night Race at the restart of the 438th lap and notably resisted the pressure of Kevin Harvick (Stewart-Haas Racing? Chevrolet) who ranks 2nd for the tenth time this season.

The reigning champion was however penalized twice during the event for infringements in the pit lane, but patiently returned to second position. He ultimately precedes pole sitter Denny Hamlin (Joe Gibbs Racing? Toyota), Jimmie Johnson (Hendrick Motorsports? Chevrolet) and Clint Bowyer (MWR? Toyota).

Less success for Bowyer's teammate at Michael Waltrip Racing, David Ragan, involved in an incident with Johnson and Bowyer. Holder of the greatest number of laps in the lead yesterday (192), Kyle Busch (Joe Gibbs Racing) finished 8th and is getting a little closer to the Chase.

Find the report on the Bristol race in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, in issue 2026 of AUTOhebdo, available tomorrow evening in digital version, and from this Wednesday on newsstands.
