Chevrolet will be represented in Nascar Cup Series by a new model. The Camaro ZL1 will indeed replace the SS in force until the end of last year. If the changes are essentially cosmetic, the matter is not easy for the Detroit brand which is counting on this Championship to increase sales of its new flagship model.

The Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 competed on January 9 and 10 at Texas Motor Speedway during a test session conducted by Goodyear. Reigning champion Martin Truex Jr (Furniture Row Racing), Ryan Blaney (Team Penske) and Aric Almirola shared the track with Chevrolet dedicated driver Chase Elliott.
This was precisely the opportunity for Chase Elliott to play for the first time with the number 9 worn by his father Bill Elliott, the champion of the 1988 season.
“It’s very hard to assess changes when you’re behind the wheel, recognized the resident of Hendrick Motorsport. The changes will probably be more apparent when we go to tracks such as Atlanta (Georgia) where the changes are more visible. The car is in any case successful. Whether at the level of the manufacturer or the public, I don't see how we could not identify this car with a commercial Camaro. »
