Nascar – Logano extends the fun at Talladega

From the 148th lap, Joey Logano (Team Penske – Ford) took control of the Talladega (Alabama) event, almost never letting go. However, the winner of the 500 Daytona 2015 had to go through several pitfalls to retain his title on the famous super-speedway and thus secure a place in the third round of the 2016 Chase.

At the start of the event, the Penske driver lost time, following a pit stop marked by a return to action with the car's speed lever still attached to the No. 22 Ford Fusion. It is then the famous extension system which will decide the outcome of the event.

Denny Hamlin (Joe Gibbs Racing – Toyota), Kurt Busch (Stewart-Haas Racing – Chevrolet) follow in the ranking.

Busch finished the race before being attacked by his teammate Kevin Harvick, the latter accusing him of contact on the deceleration lap. Ricky Stenhouse Jr (Roush Fenway Racing – Ford) completes the top 5.

This last event of the second round of the Chase claimed several notable victims who will no longer play for the 2016 title. Martin Truex Jr (Furniture Row Racing – Toyota), started from pole position and has won twice since the start of the play-offs , suffered an engine failure, just like 2012 champion Brad Keselowski (Team Penske). Chase Elliott (Hendrick Motorsports – Chevrolet) and Austin Dillon (Richard Childress Racing – Chevrolet) are the other two eliminated.
