Paul Jouffreau: “Next year, I’m aiming for the EuroNASCAR PRO title”

Penalized the day before after a muscular overtake on Alberto Nasca, Paul Jouffreau had no other opportunity than to triumph in the final sprint of the season to take the crown in EuroNASCAR 2. What the driver from Blaye (Gironde ) performed with panache without ever giving in to pressure.

However, there were many reasons to fall for it...

Thus, the race direction had decreed this race... wet race; which allowed competitors to choose their tires (slicks or rain) and officials not to wave the red flag in the event of rain.

The relatively mild weather a few minutes before takeoff encouraged the pilots to put on slicks. And it was on a perfectly dry track that the peloton set off to attack the 15 laps. Paul Jouffreau immediately took the lead which he never left again.
Even a Full Course Yellow on the 7th lap then a neutralization of the same type on the 12th revolution did not trouble the Frenchman.

With two laps remaining, his nerves were further tested as the rain fell on Zolder. On a track transformed into an ice rink, it was necessary to control the 400 horsepower of propulsion, maintain a sustained pace while knowing that the slightest deviation in trajectory would mean the end of the illusions.

Despite a few drifts, fortunately controlled, the young Frenchman continued to widen the gap. It was 7,575 seconds ahead of Martin Doubek that he crossed the finish line as champion. As for Vladimiros Tziotzis, leader of the championship before this race, he finished in 5th place.

For Paul Jouffreau, this title is a consecration…

« When I think about my debut in the series last year, this progression is just incredible, he said as his many supporters raised their voices.

I owe this success to those around me and to the RDV Compétition Team who supported me so well this season. The last two rounds were not easy. Fortunately, I used the trajectories used in karting in the rain and it worked.

Tonight, we're going to have a great party but first, I have to concentrate again to compete in the last EuroNASCAR Pro race. In 2024, I hope to aim for the title in this category. »
