Oreca launches the GT Tour

Last September, the FFSA launched a call for tenders for the organization and promotion of the FFSA Super Series. After studying the files, Oreca was selected to take over the torch of SRO, in charge of meetings since 2004. “ Hugues de Chaunac and his team, with whom we already had privileged relationships, were able to respond to the main points of our specifications and convinced us with the quality and innovative side of their project », Confided Nicolas Deschaux in the preamble to the presentation of what we will now call GT Tour? French Circuit Championship, this morning, in the lounges of the Pullman hotel in Paris Bercy.

Hugues de Chaunac explains these innovations in a few words: “ The scenery must change and the sport must be a spectacle. For this, we have two levers: the track and its sides. Competition level, the formats will evolve. In GT, for example, we will have three highlights per stage. Qualifying will become more lively with a Super Pole system bringing together the ten fastest. The first race will be typed “ Endurance » and the second will be a “Sprint” (75 and 50 minutes according to our initial information). Off the track, our wish is clearly to seduce the spectators: they must be the center of attention. We will offer them activities and other areas of interest, such as raising awareness about road safety. Finally, we have chosen to broadcast all the races live on the circuit and on the Internet ».

Côté plateau, le GT tiendra naturellement le haut de l?affiche et sera accompagné de la Porsche Matmut Carrera Cup, la Seat Leon Supercopa, la Clio Cup, les Mitjet Series et la F4 qui annonce le retour d?un championnat de France car, Oreca and the FFSA working on the organization of a FR 2.0 championship in 2012. These disciplines form the annual backbone of the meetings, each of which can accommodate one or the other category, like the Racecar Series in Nogaro.
