PCCF – Barcelona: Latorre steals pole from Klein

Starting 40 minutes late on the initial time, the PCCF qualification reserved some nice surprises. Florian Latorre (CLRT) quickly took the lead with a time of 1'48”325. The track limits also played tricks on several drivers, including Marvin Klein. The CLRT driver was in 21st place 7 minutes from the end of the session, before setting a huge time in 1'48”326, only a tiny thousandth behind his teammate. Even if he did not sign his 3rd pole position of the season, the CLRT driver avoided the worst and a start at the back of the grid.

On the 2nd line, we find two Martinet by Alméras. Alessandro Ghiretti is a very good 3rd but concedes more than 6 tenths to the leader. Hope Porsche France 2021 took the opportunity to establish the best time in the rookie category. Championship leader Dorian Boccolacci is 4th, 627 thousandths from pole.

For Race 2, the first 3 remain unchanged since Florian Latorre set the 2nd fastest time in 1'48”470. Disillusionment on the other hand for Dorian Boccolacci. The Martinet by Alméras driver will start from 22nd position. A bad operation in the title race.

The qualifying session ended after just 8 minutes. The fault was Arthur Mathieu who shot straight at turn 10. Impossible for the Spark by Racing Technology driver to leave without the help of the marshals. At the same time, Sébastien Poisson, who is new to the category, made a mistake in the gravel at the exit of turn 3. The race management decided not to take any risks and to wave the red flag.

In Pro-Am, championship leader Jérôme Boullery (YDEO) is the category polesitter in 1'49”704. He is ahead of Nicolas Misslin (BWT Lechner Racing) and Christophe Stone (Pierre Martinet by Alméras). Nicolas Misslin is poleman of the C2, ahead of Christophe Lapierre and Raymonde Narac.

Among the Ams, Tugdual Rabreau (CLRT) deprives Maxence Maurice (IMSA Performance) of a new pole position. Franck Leherpeur (CLRT) finished 3rd. Maxence Maurice can console himself with the C2 pole, ahead of Tugdual Rabreau.

The first race of the weekend can be followed this Saturday from 18:10 p.m.
