PCCF – Dorian Boccolacci: “Everything will be decided in Portimao”

You gained 18 places in 30 minutes. How do you judge your second race?

I am happy. From where we started it was easier to do worse than to be 4th so I'm satisfied. In addition, I finished just behind Florian Latorre (CLRT) and my teammate Alessandro Ghiretti (Martinet by Alméras). I made the right decisions at the right time.

You go from 22nd to 11th on the first lap. Was your start very good?

I don't think he was very good, he was his usual self. I found good opportunities and tried to make my line. We needed a start like that to get back up, otherwise we would have lost too much time at the start of the race.

Did the two safety cars play an important role in your comeback?

Yes clearly, it allowed the peloton to regroup and therefore bring me closer to the drivers in front of me. I tried not to hit the tires too much but it's not easy when you have to overtake a lot. With the Safety Car, this allows you to save rubber over a few laps. I was able to overtake until the end but I still had to do some good braking.

Braking sometimes a little aggressive, like on Jean-Baptiste Simmenauer?

It's never easy to go back up so you have to take risks. If he had let me pass, I would have been less aggressive (Laughs).

Despite this good race, Marvin Klein comes back to 5 points overall. Accountably speaking, isn't it a good weekend?

It's true but I'd rather be 5 early than 5 late. Everything will be decided in Portimao, it will be the justice of the peace. We will have to be solid and strong there. We'll see what happens.
