With his two top 5 finishes in the race during the last round, Evan Spenle arrives in Portimão with the desire to finish the season well. In 8th position during free practice 2 this Friday afternoon, the CLRT driver is having fun on the Portuguese track: “ The height difference is crazy! The circuit is very winding, technical and bumpy, especially on the brake attacks. It's really fun to drive. »

Less than a second from the best time during both sessions, the driver of the No. 33 nevertheless discovered the circuit: “ I didn't know him at all. I couldn't even do the simulator because I couldn't find the track. »

As qualifying approaches, the start of which is scheduled for 14:15 p.m. (French time), the 2020 rookie vice-champion admits that staying on the track will be a challenge: “ You will have to pay attention to the track limits in qualifying. During FP1, I had my fastest lap taken away because of an exit that was too wide at turn 1. You have to be careful but it will do it. »

If he is mathematically out of the race for the title, Evan Spenle can hope to secure a top 5 in the championship. The CLRT resident is only 9 points behind Jean-Baptiste Simmenauer (BWT Lechner Racing).
