ROWE Racing will once again field the BMW M6 GT3 and Porsche 911 GT3 R in 2020

Constituting one of the main changes of the 2018-2019 off-season, the transition from BMW to Porsche of ROWE Racing in GT World Challenge gave birth to a first season marked by several highlights for Hans-Peter Naundorf's team.

The main thing will remain second place for Frédéric Makowiecki, Patrick Pilet and Nick Tandy at the 24 Hours of Spa, at the end of a race where ROWE Racing, winner in 2016 with BMW, fielded three examples of the new 911 GT3 R.

The FIA GT World Cup in Macau also offered a double podium with the Laurens Vanthoor – Earl Bamber tandem. Enough to encourage ROWE Racing to continue its involvement with Weissach in 2020 in international races, without specifying the exact program.

“It goes without saying that it took us a little time to fully understand our new Porsche 911 GT3 R at the start of the season, simply because this car is a completely different concept to the BMW M6 GT3, which we know well , admits Hans-Peter Naundorf.

We want to use all the positive and negative experiences acquired this year to progress. In the Blancpain GT Series, particularly at Spa and Macau, it was only minor details that prevented us from finishing at the top of the podium. »

The BMW M6 GT3 will not be put aside, and will still be used to aim for the first places at the 24 Hours of the Nürburgring. “On the Nordschleife, we want and must improve at all levels and build on past successes, like in 2017 for example,” says Naundorf.

Two premature retirements during the last two 24-hour races at the Nürburgring are no match for ROWE RACING. »
