Committed to a vast GT3 and GT4 program this weekend in Barcelona, Saintéloc Racing will have achieved the perfect score in the second category, with the second victory in two races for the'Audi R8 LMS n°42 by Grégory Guilvert and Fabien Michal.

If pole sitter Jim Pla (Mercedes-AMG GT4 n°87 – AKKA-ASP) easily retained the advantage at the start, Grégory Guilvert performed the best operation by moving up from fifth to third position behind the Ginetta G55 GT4 n°15 – NM Racing.

Further back in the peloton, several incidents punctuated the first laps, including the #4 – Muller Racing Mercedes-AMG GT85 leaving the track at turn #4, causing the safety car to enter the track. .

On the restart behind leader Pla, Guilvert overtook the Catalan Ginetta to take second place. The Pla – Guilvert duo escaped during the first stint and before the driver changes had a comfortable lead over the competition, led by theAston Martin Vantage #144 – Generation AMR Racing by Matthew George.

Michal unstoppable, Consani limits the damage

After going to the pits, AKKA-ASP retains control of the event with Jean-Luc Beaubelique well in the lead ahead of Fabien Michal, teammate of Grégory Guilvert, more than 8″ separating the two leading cars.

But little by little, Fabien Michal reduced the gap and five minutes from the finish, the driver of the No. 42 Audi unstoppably overtook the leader Beaubelique at the exit of turn No. 5.

Michal thus secures a double which allows the tandem formed with Grégory Guilvert to take control of the championship for six points against Robert Consani and Benjamin Lariche, 5th in the No. 55 Ginetta G8 – SpeedCar.
